About

What Pinball Day is, and how to use it.

What is National Pinball Day?

National Pinball Day is celebrated on August 1st, Roger Sharpe's Birthday. He is often credited with saving pinball. In 1976, New York City still had a ban on pinball, and Sharpe proved that pinball was a game of skill, not gambling. He called his shot, hit it, and the city overturned the ban.

That event is one reason pinball survives today.

August 1st has turned into a community celebration. Some arcades run special events, collectors open up their game rooms, and a bunch of pinball vendors drop one-day sales or discount codes.

Why it matters to this site

Because so many shops and players treat National Pinball Day as a mini-holiday, it’s one of the two biggest “pinball deal” windows of the year (Black Friday being the other). This site helps keep all those sales, show dates, and tournament info in one easy place so you don’t have to hunt through five different sites and social feeds to stay current.

What is pinballday.com?

Pinball Day has one goal: providing a one-stop portal of what's happening in the hobby. Big shows, notable tournaments, and the best times of year to pick up parts, mods, and machines on sale.

What you’ll find here

The Events page highlights major shows so you can plan travel or just see what’s coming up. The Deals page focuses on National Pinball Day, Black Friday, Cyber Monday, and other sales windows where vendors run special promos.

For vendors & organizers

If you organize a pinball show, or run a shop with a sale to share, use the forms at the bottom of the Events or Deals pages to submit your details.

Work in progress

Right now this site is early-stage and content is still being filled in. The structure is in place so it can grow into a useful, low-noise reference for the community over time.
